Cancún International (CUN) is ~20 minutes from the Hotel Zone. Pre-book an airport transfer or use the ADO bus; taxis are pricey and rideshare is restricted. A rental car helps for day trips to Tulum, cenotes, and Chichén Itzá, but isn't needed for a Hotel-Zone-only stay.
